"Droplet" — Hanging Woven Silver and Gold Mesh Sculpture

Droplet is a hand-woven hanging sculpture built from two branching stems carrying three spindle-shaped pods. The entire structure is made from fine wire, loop by loop, using a hand-weaving technique close to knitting — with no moulds and no machines. The work sets two metal tones against each other: cool silvery pods and warm golden stems and tips, which flow into one another seamlessly, without a hard border. Each pod is opened by a circular aperture that reveals a smaller golden core concealed within — like a seed enclosed in fruit, or a pupil within an eye.

The form is almost weightless and entirely semi-transparent: light passes straight through the mesh, and a second soft drawing appears in shadow on the wall behind, shifting across the course of the day. The faintest movement of air turns the pods gently, so the object never looks static. It is ideal for tall, bright interiors: a stairwell, an entrance hall, a glazed living room, a hotel lobby or a gallery space. Entirely hand-crafted over many hours — slight irregularities in the weave are a natural feature of handmade work and make every piece unrepeatable.
