"Regatta" — Welded Patinated Steel Sculpture

Regatta is a handmade steel sculpture built from more than a dozen cut plates and flat bars arranged into a formation that recalls a fleet of sails leaning into the wind. Every element was cut, forged and welded by hand, and the weld seams have been deliberately left visible — they record the process and carry the mark of the sculptor's hand. The surface bears a naturally developed, controlled patina in warm rust-brown tones, sealed with protective wax so the metal keeps its raw, noble character without corroding further. The piece stands on a solid square steel base, signed by the artist.

The composition is fully three-dimensional: each viewpoint reveals a different arrangement of planes, dense and tangled from one side, open and airy from another. The sharp, rising forms give the work direction and tension, while the matte metal surface absorbs light beautifully and casts deep shadows across the surface below. It suits interiors with a strong character — a loft, a study, a library, an office space or a reception hall. Hand-crafted as a one-off piece; slight variations in texture, patina and weld lines are a natural feature of handmade work and underline its uniqueness.
