"Crescent" — Bronze Sculpture on a Stone Plinth

Crescent is a handmade bronze sculpture reduced to a single clean gesture — a broad curving plane that rises upward and tapers to a sharp, almost thread-fine point. The form reads at once as a crescent moon, a sail taut with wind, and a wing at the moment of lift. The surface is polished and patinated by hand: a warm brown-gold tone flows from lighter, almost luminous passages at the centre into deep dark sepia along the edges, so the metal appears lit from within. The sculpture sits on a slender plinth of dark stone resting on a flat steel plate, and is signed by the artist.

The greatest strength of this piece is its balance: a heavy, substantial volume that seems barely to touch its base, as though about to lift away from it entirely. From every angle the silhouette changes — broad and full from one side, thin as a blade from another.
